• Home port/community selection

Listening Data

• What you listen to and for how long
• Your playlists and library
• Listening history

Why we need this: To calculate how your subscription is distributed to artists. This is the core of our user-centric payment model.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.

Location Data

If you allow it, we use your approximate location to detect your home port. This is optional and used only to suggest your local music community.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the Human Arts service
• To calculate and distribute payments to artists
• To personalize your discovery feed based on your community
• To send service-related communications
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

What Artists See

Artists on Human Arts can see aggregated, anonymized listening data for their music. They can see how many listeners they have in each community and total listening time, but they cannot see individual listener identities or specific listening patterns.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

• Service providers: Stripe (payments), Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting)
• Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Opt out of marketing communications

Data Retention

We retain your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where required for legal or financial records (e.g., payment history for tax purposes).

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security audits.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and service functionality. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
